Meet Aaron

Hi! let me introduce myself:

I began playing piano at 14. yup, 14!

my motivation to start piano: wanting to play every song from The “legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time”.

Through the years I was taught by various teachers who all fostered my unique interests, and that kindness has greatly influenced how I teach my students today. My goal is to continue that same legacy and cater to the unique interests of my students. I truly believe that every student can learn the piano while also having fun in any musical style!

During my childhood I also had the great privilege of learning music writing & composition from an accomplished composer who played both piano and organ. I eventually won a local symphony composition competition in my Junior year of High School!

in College, I received pedagogical education and training from The University of West Georgia under the care and guidance of Dr. Carol Gingerich in the field of, well…Piano Pedagogy! I also served as a faculty member at the Piano Project at UWG through the Pedagogy program where I taught a number of students varying tremendously in age, skill level, and musical backgrounds. My time in college is also where I started to develop a love for very advanced music theory and playing very musically complex genre’s including jazz, ragtime, blues and impressionistic music from Debussy and others.

I grew up listening to rock and metal, so of course I have enjoyed playing and touring in many rock bands through the years. I am also ever grateful to be undeservedly saved by faith through Jesus Christ, and I have been immensely blessed by also playing in worship groups throughout the years as well. Playing in these settings in a whole different experience from classical playing, but because you can make music with friends I especially enjoy playing those styles!

Outside of music I love spending time with my beautiful wife and two small children. Along with teaching and nurturing budding musicians, they are my biggest purpose in life.
